Our Company History
1928
First policy written by founders Richard and Lenore Rossbacher. Richard and Lenore were known for their commitment to honest and ethical insurance treatment for clients. Richard was very active in the local community, serving on Corry City Council for many years.
1951
Richard passed down business to son, John Rossbacher. John made it his mission to deliver a personal experience for each client with whom he worked. Every day, he wore a tie clip to work engraved with the phrase “P.S. – Personal Service”, which over time became a company slogan. John guided the business with his wife, Nancy, until their retirement in 1985.
1985
Leadership next passed to John T. “Chip” Colwell Jr., who first gained experience in the insurance business working at his father’s agency, Colwell, James & Hart, in Erie, PA. He was recruited to the agency and had moved to Corry in 1977.
1986
Acquired Earl Insurance Service.
1992
Acquired Mitchell Insurance Service.
1999
Brad Allen joined the Rossbacher Insurance family, current President of Rossbacher Insurance Group
2005
J.T. Colwell, son of Chip Colwell, became a partner of Team Rossbacher.
2010
Acquired Heenan Agency.
Moved to the heart of Corry, Pennsylvania; our current location at 19 N. Center Street.
2011
Scott Fogle was brought into the partnership to bring in his expertise of human resource as the three partners worked to strengthen their personal and commercial lines team.
2012
Fox Family Insurance joined Team Rossbacher. Fox Family still partners with Rossbacher to offer Medicare services to Team Rossbacher clients.
2013
Acquired Urban Insurance Agency located in Seneca, PA.
2014
Acquired Seneca Insurance and Full Service Notary in Cranberry, PA. This became the second location of Team Rossbacher.
2015
Acquired Horton J. Davis & Son, Inc. of Corry.
2020
Acquired Williams Insurance Agency in Oil City, PA.
2021
Fox Family Insurance moved to their current location at 637 N Center St in the Corry Jamestown Credit Union building.
Acquired Eades Insurance Agency in North East, PA and opened their third office location.
2024
Expanded the Cranberry office location and built onto their current space to accommodate their team member growth.
